No one on this planet sounds like Aïsha Devi. Her voice is her most powerful tool in a repertoire that includes thumping beats and rave stabs, ethereal singing and mystical sounds. Born in Switzerland with Nepali Indigenous heritage, a transversal identity was formed, shaping both her personal and creative journey. Her work is rich in political and philosophical subtext, and she has been an influential member of our growing global counter-cultural electronic music family since before Hyperreality.
Co-founding Danse Noire in 2013, she released breakthrough EPs and albums, including ‘Of Matter And Spirit’ (2015), ‘DNA Feelings’ (2018) and ‘Death Is Home‘ (2023) - her most personal album yet. While she currently uses music as her primary medium of expression, Devi’s practice is fundamentally interdisciplinary, collaborating with visual and performance artists as well as making her own interventions within the art world. With her mesmeric digital world-building and captivating stage presence she has bowled over crowds at CTM, Primavera, Unsound, Roskilde, Dark Mofo, MoMA PS1 and hundreds of festivals and venues from Japan to Mexico and beyond.
